A Winter Wonderland Coming to Greensboro Science Center

GREENSBORO, NC — The Greensboro Science Center (GSC) has finalized design plans for Winter Wonderlights, its brand new holiday light show experience. Uniquely-themed, immersive zones, designed by GES Events, the world leader in holiday experiences, will illuminate the GSC’s zoo for 42 nights in 2020. This new annual Greensboro tradition is made possible in part with support from the Greensboro Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (CVB), the event’s inaugural sponsor.
Winter Wonderlights will transform the GSC’s zoo into a winter wonderland of light, science and holiday excitement with outdoor experiences including a walk through the Ice Age to a fountain featuring dancing penguins and a forest of light. The zoo light experience will be complemented by indoor opportunities including visits with Santa in his workshop, singing elves, a giant living snow globe and much more.
Glenn Dobrogosz, the GSC’s CEO, says, “A huge thank you to the Greensboro CVB for believing in the Greensboro Science Center and the tourism impact of what an all-new holiday tradition will provide for our community. Winter Wonderlights is a bold attempt to do something big and different for Greensboro.”
The GSC is investing over $1.6 million into this Greensboro “first” and sponsors will play a critical role in helping to create an over-the-top experience that can be expanded in future years.
Dobrogosz says, “We need your help. A limited number of Winter Wonderlights sponsorship opportunities are available. Ranging from $20,000 to $50,000, your name can be illuminated as an important partner in the Winter Wonderlights phenomenon.”
