It’s a Wonderful Life- Triad Stage
Triad Stage celebrates the winter holiday season with Joe Landry’s adaptation of the beloved Frank Capra classic – It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. This unique retelling of the classic film employs an unusual technique in its storytelling—the audience is treated as the studio audience of a live 1940’s radio program which is performing…It’s a Wonderful Life. Follow the life of George Bailey and the townsfolk of Bedford Falls as the cast of six “radio performers” bring dozens of character to life. The radio play concept is enhanced by the character of the “Foley Artist”. Foley artists create sound effects to help tell a radio story. They use a series of props to help them create sounds like thunder, rain, boots walking in snow, horse hooves galloping along a lane, etc. Audiences will experience the recreated story of George Bailey on a fateful Christmas Eve, as he considers the relevance and meaning of his life thanks to an angel-in-training named Clarence Oddbody. It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play runs December 1st through December 22nd. Opening night is Friday, December 6th.
