Event Details:

The parade will start at North Elm and E. Lindsay Streets.

This year, the parade will honor local Purple Heart recipients who bravely served this country. Veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War will also be showcased.

Additionally, Gold Star and POW/MIA families will be acknowledged. These families represent those from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice in all conflicts.

Area high school marching bands, JROTC units, and various clubs, organizations, and businesses will participate set against a backdrop of military vehicles and floats.

“It’s an honor for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 20 to sponsor this parade,” said North Carolina DAV State Commander William “Bill” Tate, retired U.S. Army Special Forces and Vietnam veteran.

This event is also being held in partnership with the City of Greensboro.

“This is an opportunity for the community to turn out and honor veterans and their families – those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.”
