Flexibility was built into every aspect of the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, with 197,000 total square feet of exhibit space. For each of the 800 events presented yearly, a variety of configurations are possible. The 167,000-square-foot Special Events Center can be partitioned into four halls, leaving 60,000 square feet for exhibits and 4,500-seat general seating setup for group sessions or entertainment.
Or, a convention might choose to use the 23,500-capacity Coliseum Arena and adjacent 2,376-seat War Memorial Auditorium. Smaller conferences and meetings will enjoy the more intimate 298-seat Odeon Theater. When used with the arena, this setting complements the interactive requirements of press conferences, seminars and meetings.
The Greensboro Coliseum Complex's, 78,323-square-foot Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) is a state-of-the-art facility featuring leading edge concepts in aquatic design. The GAC brings together all major aquatic sports – competitive swimming and diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and other unique sports all in one venue. The GAC fully meets NCAA and FINA standards and offers Greensboro the opportunity to host high school and collegiate events, USA Swimming meets, Master's swimming and U.S. Water Polo events as well as a myriad of local, regional, national and international competitions.
For entertainment, catch shows in the Coliseum Arena. See some of your favorite acts and enjoy beautiful North Carolina weather at the new outdoor White Oak Amphitheatre, featuring a seating capacity of 7,688, including more than 2,000 reserved seats (please note seats are not covered) and general admission lawn seating for more than 5,600 patrons.
Sports fans will love the new Atlantic Coast Conference Hall of Champions. 15 years in the works, the Atlantic Coast Conference Hall of Champions opened in March 2011 at the Greensboro Colliseum Complex, honoring the past and present ACC coaches and athletes. The exciting, interactive Hall of Champions includes artifacts from games and players and photos of every athlete in the conference. See why Greensboro is "Tournament Town"!"
Not only have recent renovations made the Coliseum Complex one of the largest in the nation, but they also have put the facility on the leading edge of technological convenience.
