Stay in Luxury at the Proximity Hotel
As the first LEED Platinum “green hotel” in the country, the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro, NC is a great host for business conferences, leisure travel, and weddings, and more. The design and construction of the hotel followed the proper guidelines of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, which led to the building earning this certification. With over 70 sustainable practices, the Proximity Hotel has reduced operating costs and conserved natural resources efficiently.
With its opening in 2007, the hotel will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. They recently just refurnished the interior of the rooms and upgraded their carpeting using the recycled older carpets.
Artist in Residence at the hotel, Chip Holton, helped sketch the architectural rendering of the building, painted a mural for the inside, and has created original pieces of art in every room. As of recently, he is adding color to his charcoal sketches in the rooms.
The hotel hosts many different events; they hold weddings of all kinds, business conventions and meetings, social gatherings, and more, for which they have stunning banquet rooms.
On the roof of the building, they have 100 solar panels that cover 4,000 square feet, which produces enough hot water for 100 homes. They use the energy that these solar panels collect to heat the water for the entire hotel.
Attached by a breezeway, the French Bistro, Print Works, offers a variety of exquisite menu items, and offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner every day of the week.
