Brookhaven Mill Farm B&B/Farmstay
Brookhaven Mill Farm is a historic property that was built by the Anderson family in 1882. It includes a farmhouse, a barn, a corn crib, and several outbuildings that were used as a smokehouse, a granary, a workshop, and a washroom. Since then, the farm has changed hands and the house brought up to modern-day standards. The outbuildings have been converted to storage and a farm store that is open to the public.
Guest stay can include a Farm Stay and Bed and Breakfast options for the weekend. As guests check in on Friday evenings, they are treated to a snack and beverage in this dining area and can relax alone or with the hostess to see what activities they want to be included in as part of the farm stay. Guests that come to the B&B/Farmstay and want to just relax, or experience the ambiance of the country are treated to a sumptuous breakfast of their choosing, and a large room of their choice upstairs to relax and get a peaceful night’s sleep. Hi-speed internet is available in and around the house and there are coffee makers in each room. The full-sized bathroom upstairs has a tub/bath shower combination. Guests also have the option of being served breakfast downstairs in the private dining area, or requesting breakfast be brought upstairs and left outside the door.
For those guests who want to participate in farm activities, the chores start after breakfast. A walk to the barn will include checking on animals, feeding and watering, checking the barnyard, and feeding the chickens, ducks, and geese. Guests that want to hang around the farm and help out in the garden, collect eggs throughout the day, or just learn more about the animals, will be given the opportunity.
