Lake Higgins
It is the smallest of the city lakes, yet offers some of the best fishing in the area. Fishing is allowed from a boat or from the pier. Kayaking, stand-up paddling boarding (SUP) and canoeing are allowed on Lake Higgins. A launch ramp is open for launching private boats. Rowboats, kayaks, and canoes are available for daily rentals.

Lake Brandt
Fishing is allowed from the pier or from a boat. No bank fishing is allowed. Fishing is most successful for largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish. Kayaking, stand-up paddling boarding, and canoeing are allowed, plus there is a launch ramp that is open for private boats. Privately owned canoes and kayaks may be launched year-round. Kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes are available to the public for in-season daily rental.

Lake Townsend
Lake Townsend is the largest of Greensboro’s municipal reservoirs. The lake is 1,542 acres and is adjacent to the Bryan Park Complex and Golf Course off Highway 29 North. A large boat ramp is available for private boat launching, with another launch ramp for small sailboats. Kayaks and rowboats are available to rent. Sailboats can be rented with previous sailing experience. Popular fish include largemouth bass, hybrid bass, striped bass, catfish, and crappie.

Lake Jeanette
Lake Jeanette covers approximately 270 acres with a shoreline of 5 miles and is 60 feet deep in some locations. There is a 50 foot buffer around the perimeter of the Lake known as the Buffer Zone. This buffer is to remain natural and unimproved and is regulated by City, County, State and Federal ordinances and laws relating to Riparian Buffers. Lake Jeanette has an earthen dam and spillway and waters from the lake flow over the spillway into Lake Townsend (City drinking water supply).
