North Carolina Youth Soccer Association will host the 2017 US Youth Soccer Region III (South) Championships as part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the country's oldest and most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. The games will take place at the Bryan Park Soccer Complex.
The Region III Championships are expected to draw more than 3,600 players and an estimated 12,000 spectators. The Regional consists of US YouthSoccer State Champions, US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League champions, as well as drawn wildcard entries. Following individual state championship tournaments, the Regional Championships are the second leg of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.
The tournament will attract more than 200 boys and girls teams, ages Under-13 through Under-19/20, from the 12 Southern US Youth Soccer State Associations that make up US Youth Soccer Region III (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Texas, Tennessee).
Regional winners of the Under-13 through Under-19/20 brackets earn a berth to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships.
