World Irish Dance Championship

Get ready to jig, reel, and hornpipe! Greensboro welcomes The World Irish Dancing Championships or “Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne” for its third time in the United States ever. The Championship includes competitions for solo stepdance, such as double jig, hornpipe, slip jig, and reel, and certain traditional and original ceili dances. It is the top and largest competition, sometimes called the “Olympics of Irish dance,” attracting some 5,000 competitors and 25,000 spectators each year from more 30 countries.
