Calling all Bluegrass Lovers

Come out to celebrate bluegrass and country roots at the 2nd American Roots Bluegrass Festival August 28th-29th.

This year, the festival will be held at The Groome Inn on Groometown Road here in Greensboro! Last year, the first ever American Roots Bluegrass Festival took place in Thomasville, NC. This year, the event is going to be bigger, better and jam packed. And the best part for all you folks out there who really want to get the full experience for the weekend? Camping and RV parking are available on site!

Not only will there be bluegrass music, there will also be food vendors, art vendors, camping, and much more! MC Cindy Baucom, radio star of Knee Deep in Bluegrass, will host the event along with the main act of the weekend….her husband Terry Baucom and the Dukes of Drive!

The fun-filled weekend will begin with a “Kick off Party” on Friday, August 28th. Among the entertainment that night is Smith Family and the Southbound Pickers. Even better? Oldtime dancers and cloggers are welcome, in fact strongly encouraged, to come out and show off their skills. Then, top it all off with The South Carolina Broadcasters to end just the first night of bluegrass fun. Unplugged jam sessions are encouraged!

Saturday will bring an early riser jam session on the front porch of The Groome Inn, followed by our personal favorite part of the weekend…Passing the Roots, a kids showcase! So, if you know a young and talented bluegrass or oldtime singer/band, send them to the festival to show it off! Then, finish out the bluegrass-filled weekend with performances of Mountain Rain, Back Porch Bluegrass, Rich in Tradition, AND Terry Baucom and the Dukes of Drive!

Also featured at the event is the Field of Flags, where if you sponsor a mini-American Flag in honor of a Veteran for just $20, 50% of proceeds will go to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)
Chapter of your choice.

Tickets are available now! For more information, to purchase tickets, or to sign up for the kids showcase, contact Jessica Smith at (336)-858-3834 or

See you there!
