Greensboro, NC -- June 4 is a first Friday, so that means live Late Night: EMFjazz&blues returns to Print Works Bistro, partnering with the Eastern Music Festival for their monthly EMFjazz&blues series. Stephen Anderson, composer, pianist and recording artist, just released his new CD, The Stephen Anderson Trio - Nation Degeneration. The STEPHEN ANDERSON TRIO will play from 10pm until 12:30am. There is no cover charge. Other dates for this series are July 2, August 6, September 3, October 1, November 5 and December 3, 2010 and a schedule of performers will be released shortly.

The trio's previous recording, Forget Not (2008), received 41?2 stars (out of 5) from the All Music Guide, was nominated best jazz "Debut CD" (3rd Annual Village Voice Jazz Critics Poll 2008), and has been widely performed on radio nationally, as well as internationally. Prior to leading his own trio, Anderson was pianist with the Lynn Seaton Trio and appears on two recordings for Nagel Heyer Records, Puttin' On the Ritz (2005) and Ballads (2006). Anderson played and recorded with the North Texas One O'clock Lab Band (Lab 2001), and Two O'clock Lab Band (Translucent Two). He has been active as a clinician and performing artist nationally and internationally in recent years, was winner of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival piano competition (1997), and was the keyboardist for gold-recording (country) artist, Kevin Sharp (1996-1997).

Jeffrey Multer, EMF’s Concertmaster will perform at the EMF Scholarship Recital on Sunday, June 6 at 3pm at the Starmount Presbyterian Church. Jeewon Park will accompany Mr. Multer. Admission is FREE with donations to the EMF Scholarship Fund greatly appreciated. A reception will immediately follow the performance. Eastern Music Festival’s highly anticipated season will officially kickoff on Saturday, June 26th and run through Saturday, July 31.

EMF alumnus (two summers) and concertmaster JEFFREY MULTER returns to Greensboro and the Eastern Music Festival for his twenty-fifth season in 2010. Mr. Multer is also first violinist of New York City’s critically acclaimed Elements Quartet, whose New York series was named “best classical music event of 2003” by the Washington Post. He has appeared as soloist and recitalist in concert halls throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and South America, including: the Lincoln Center in New York, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Rudolphinium in Prague and the Kennedy Center and National Gallery in Washington, DC. As a chamber musician, he frequently appears with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and has served as first violinist of the Oxford String Quartet and as a member of the Kennedy Center Theater Chamber Players. He has been a core member of the Great Lakes Chamber Festival in Detroit, Michigan. Other concertmaster appointments include the Colorado Symphony, the Breckenridge Music Institute in Colorado, the Washington Concert Opera and the Echternacht Festival in Luxembourg. Recently, the Detroit Free Press praised him for his “extraordinary precision and poise,” and the Cleveland Plain Dealer called him “a prodigious and aristocratic violinist,” while the Washington Post called his recent solo recital at the National Gallery “a dazzling performance.” Mr. Multer currently teaches at The Juilliard School in the pre-college division and is concertmaster of The Florida Orchestra in Tampa.

Praised for her “deeply reflective” playing (Indianapolis Star), pianist JEEWON PARK is rapidly garnering the attention of audiences for her dazzling technique and poetic lyricism. Since making her debut at the age of 12 performing Chopin’s First Concerto with the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Ms. Park has performed at major venues such as Weill Recital Hall, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall and Kaplan Penthouse, Merkin Hall, 92nd Street Y, Steinway Hall, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Kravis Center (FL). As a recitalist, she has given concerts at Steinway Hall in New York, Seoul Arts Center in Korea, Caramoor International Festival, Norfolk Music Festival, among others.
