February 23, 2010 - Guilford Courthouse National Military Park Hosts Annual Revolutionary War Lecture Series
(Greensboro, NC) Guilford Courthouse National Military Park announces the Annual Revolutionary War Lecture Series to be held March 9 through 12, 2010. The evening lecture programs begin at 7:00 PM each evening in the visitor center theater of the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park located at New Garden Road in northwest Greensboro.
This year’s lecture topics and distinguished speakers will be:
• Tuesday, March 9: “Race After the Dan: The Battles Leading Up to Guilford Courthouse” presented by Stewart Dunaway & Jeff Bright, Historians, Authors.
• Wednesday, March 10: “ A Gallant Defense: The Siege of Charleston, 1780” presented by Carl Borick, Assistant Director, The Charleston Museum, Historian, Author.
• Thursday March 11: Hurricane of Independence” presented by Tony Williams, Historian, Author.
• Friday, March 12: “Cool Deliberate Courage: John Eager Howard in the American Revolution” presented by Dr. Jim Piecuch, Professor of History, Kennesaw State University, Author.
All Revolutionary War Series lectures are free to the public, but reservations are required. Call (336) 288-1776 to reserve a seat (maximum seating for lectures is 120).
