August 18, 2009 - Reasons 2 Rhyme will Host the Final MoSoul Poetry Festival of the Series

Greensboro, N.C. (August 15, 2009) Reasons 2 Rhyme will host the final MoSoul Poetry Festival of the series to date. The MoSoul Poetry Festival is going to be held on August 21-22 and will feature 10 poets from Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Philadelphia, Michigan, Florida, New Jersey, and New York.

The MoSoul Poetry Festival is a two day festival that integrates five events that will begin on Friday, August 21. The first two events are the community outreach programs that Reasons 2 Rhyme has coordinated with local recreation centers such as Brown, Windsor, Lindley and Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center as well as the Glenwood Branch Library for the poets to perform for children. Later on that evening, the poets will perform at the Cultural Arts Center at midnight for a special blend of late night poetry.

On Saturday, August 22, the main event of the MoSoul Poetry Festival will take place at Festival Park, in Downtown Greensboro from 3pm to 7pm. There will be live music and vendors and all ages are invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets for an afternoon of spoken word. The final event of the festival is an after party that will take place at Triad Stage at 10pm to conclude the weekend.

Reasons 2 Rhyme creator and 2009 grant recipient from the United Arts Council of Greensboro, Josephus III has worked diligently to make every event for Reasons 2 Rhyme a must see event in Greensboro, N.C. Every event to date has been packed to capacity and people from all over the state are recognizing Greensboro as a “poetry destination”.

“This is the last chance of the summer to see one of our largest events in the Reasons 2 Rhyme series” said Josephus III. “If you haven’t seen the MoSoul Poetry Festival thus far this is an event you don’t want to miss out on. There is nothing like this going on in the state of NC that brings the community and families together to experience spoken word.”

Reasons 2 Rhyme has two events left in the series; the Poetry Café at Studio B on Friday, September 18 and Josephus III anticipated one man show, Boundless at Triad Stage on Saturday, October 3.
